What is a PVC Roof?

First off, what is PVC? It stands for polyvinyl chloride. PVC is a great single-ply roofing solution. It’s made from a lower percentage of oil and petroleum than thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) or ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM). We proudly use Conklin’s PVC roofing material know as Flexion XL.  Some of the advantages of the Flexion system are:

• Stops leaks with superior waterproofing
• Provides first-rate resistance to wind and hail
• UL fire rated
• Increases energy efficiency and lowers utility expense
• Can be applied in all seasons, performs in all climates
• 20 year warranty available!

Flexion roof

The high concentration of Elvaloy® and modified compounds in the sheets of Flexion make it very pliable and nice to work with compared to other PVC membranes on the market.

PVC Roofing Systems are considered the forerunner of “heat-welded single-ply roofing systems” whose existence is dated for more than half a century. They’re flexible, resilient, and either fully fastened or mechanically adhered. For some time now, pvc roofing system has been an excellent option when it comes to roofing.

Why Flexion?

This Elvaloy®-modified PVC provides rugged protection from the elements. Flexion stands apart in the industry because an acrylic topcoat is applied to keep the membrane cleaner for longer periods of time, which will extend the overall lifespan of the roofing system. Its unique chemical formulation is naturally fire-resistant, making Flexion an excellent choice for both new and re-roofing applications.

Conklin Roofing Systems, Flexion XL included, provide leak-free protection and
exceptional energy savings for years. They maintain maximum reflectivity and energy savings because their surfaces are resistant to dirt and discoloration. Annual cleaning is all that’s needed to keep them white.

The Application Process

First, you securely attach the appropriate board stock to the roof. Typically, we would use ISO board.

Next, we install the Flexion XL membrane, overlapping the seams in the direction of water run-off.

After installing the membrane, we heat weld the seams by hand, creating a seamless look.

Finally, we seal any free edges of the Flexion XL membrane with a urethane sealant.

You are left with an  exceptionally durable, waterproof, energy-efficient shield over your roof that will deliver unsurpassed protection for years to come.
