The paved trail has three distinct sections: south, middle, and north.

From Chardon, the middle portion of this trail runs southward. A spur trail runs east from Claridon Road to the Mountain Run Station Trailhead at Chardon – Windsor Rd. Parking is available at Claridon Woodlands Park. There are also permanent toilets. It continues to Headwaters Park, Grandview Golf Club, and then transitions into the southern section.

After a marked run through the town, you will find a gap in the trail near State Route 608/Old State Road and E. High Street. The southern portion continues through Middlefield. The trail runs through woodlands and wetlands for about a mile. It ends in Swine Creek Reservation.

Tourists may reach the north section by leaving Interstate 90 at State Road 44. Follow State Road 44 south for 3.2 miles until you come to Clark Rd. Continue east on Clark to Ravenna Road, then turn right and go 1 mile west to the parking lot. A trailhead to Lake Metroparks Greenway’s Lake Metroparks Corridor is also accessible from Girdled Road’s northern terminus. It’s located north of Colburn Road’s Maple Highlands Trail southern trailhead.
