The Chesterland Historical Foundation was established in 1998 to provide historical and cultural programs for the residents of Chesterland. The Foundation’s mission is to promote the preservation and appreciation of the Chesterland Historic District by acquiring property, restoration of buildings, and establishing educational programs. The building is located in a roughly eighteen-acre park. It includes a museum, a meeting house, a cemetery, and several other historic structures open to the public for tours, special events, and educational programs. The museum has an extensive collection of artifacts related to the history of Chesterland and the surrounding area, including photographs, household objects, clothing, and tools. The Historical Society preserves and restores several historic buildings in the City and maintains four historic structures, including the Chesterland Museum House, the Richardson Gothic Farmhouse, the Clark House, and the I.O.O.F. Hall.
